Belgium (European) Nightcrawlers

Belgium Nightcrawlers are the best dual purpose worm for bait and worm composting/castings purposes. They are highly regarded in Europe for fresh and salt water fishing worms. They are able to withstand a wider temperature range than other composting species of worms. Full size mature worms of this specie are almost as large as Canadian Dew worms but more firm, tough & lively plus they tolerate heat a bit better so do not fail as quickly or turn mushy in hot weather for fishing purposes. They do not require refrigeration as do the Canadian Dew worms.

They can also be raised in captivity for commercial purposes or in worm composting bins, where the wild Canadian Dew worms being a soil worm/burrowing specie will not be a good candidate for these purposes. Belgium Nightcrawlers are a litter/non burrowing specie and live above ground in litter making them an excellent worm specie for bait/composting and due to their large size they produce top quality worm castings in abundance and are relatively easy to raise as compared to some other species of worms. Reproduction rates are nearly as good as red wiggler worms but serve a wider purpose range. Other purposes for these worms are: pet foods (reptiles, fish etc), pet stores, zoo`s etc.
